It is sad that the Western "Commanders" capitulated to Stalin at the end of WW II and relegated all of Eastern Europe to the barbarian Red Army which was subsequently ethnically cleansed of over 12 million Germans including East Prussia and permanently carved up into two halves, 1/2 to Russia and 1/2 to Poland and moved Poland's Eastern borders west and Poland's Western borders west consuming the German breadbasket of West Prussia. Truman had a chance to change this arrangement by a sick FDR and a weak Chruchill at Potsdam in 1945. Wars have their consequences like the idiotic wars we did not have to fight now.
